Skidoo in the Brandywine Valley!
25th February 2017
Trying snowmobile was another activity high on my bucket list, and as our latest project at work - Hugh Jackman's final appearance as Wolverine in 'Logan' - has finally been released , I thought it would be a great opportunity to take my team out for an afternoon of skidoo!
We decided to go for the "Wilderness Tour" from Blackcomb Snowmobile in Whistler, which included an afternoon (3h) of skidoo in one of my favorite area in BC: the Brandywine Valley! We have been lucky enough to a have private tour for our group of 4 with a guide only for ourselves... With the choice between doing a scenic tour or a more adventurous one, we decided to do a mix of both and our awesome guide adapted the tour for us.
The first impression is that these machine are some pretty cool beasts! It took us a dozen of minute to be used to it, as we were completely soared at our first break. The time to take some cool picture of the surrounding mountains and grab some useful advice and we were back on the trail. The sensations became better and better and the fun really started when we reached a a flat area on which we have finally been able to test the limits of our mount. Funny enough some aspect of it actually reminded me of mountain-biking.
After that it was time for a longer break to refill our batteries: we have been welcome to a hidden wood cabin in the middle of the mountain where some hot dogs, hot cider and fresh cookies were waiting for us! It was then time to head back to the Base facility, not without enjoying the last minutes on these little beasts.
The Rendez-vous is taken. We will have to come back, this time to explore the meadows and the alpine summits!
