Wednesday 13th December 2017 - early morning. I received a phone call that I choose to not answer cause I was still asleep. A few minutes later I get an email notification from someone at BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products): I apparently won a contest I did earlier in the year... and they ask me to choose among  their "products" for my prize.

!To give a bit of a background, BRP is an historic Canadian company specialized in  off-road vehicles, including their famous Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo but also Side-by-Side vehicles, ATVs and the Spyder (3 wheels motorcycle)

After a couple of phone calls and some long hours looking at their website I started to realize how lucky I was and finally decided to choose what seems to be the best off-road vehicle I could think of: the Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS TURBO R! I then arranged a meeting with the guys at GVPS (Greater Vancouver PowerSports) - the main BRP dealership in BC and went to pick up my new toy early this year.

It was time to give this beast a first ride... We headed to Harrison Lake in the east of Vancouver where I knew there were some great off-road trails.

It also happened to be my birthday weekend so we decided to extend that with a winter camping overnight in the backcountry. That was a great opportunities to discover the exploration power of this side-by-side: snow, rocks, river beds, nothing stopped us during the entire weekend!

We got to spend a few hours to explore the area,  reaching the 100km mark at the end of the second day! The fun ended when I drove on a huge nail on the road 500 meters from the parking lot where the trailer was waiting for me, finishing the weekend with a flat tire.

BRP / Can-Am is having another similar contest this year, so it might be your turn to

WIN A Can-Am!
